Hunters 04:21
Hunters lurking in my mind, firing blackened arrows upon the sky Never waiver, the quiver locks a lever to this prison I reside As their hits impale me, my memories assail me Falling under predation, I am victim to each passing thought Hunters--they mock and stare Adorned with feathers, I lie in wait, broken and shattered beyond repair Who could deign to love me? A mosaic of failure I am Beads of shame; porcelain regret Here I am, searching for beauty to fill these cracks, hoping the dust I sow will one day form a mountain

about

Umbramancer does not hide, lie, or conceal. This is me at my rawest, from crushing depths to roaring heights. Overall, Umbramancer is a journey through recovery in mental health. I have struggled for several years with trauma and its effects on my wellbeing and my relationships. Umbramancer captures a lot of the successes and failures I've encountered in therapy and in my own personal development. I am a different person now than when I started writing it, and the journey throughout the album is just as variedly human.

At the very least, I am grateful that I could creatively journal my experiences in recovery. The road has not been straight, but I have never held my head higher. Umbramancer carries a certain candor and unrestrained sense of self that perhaps was not entirely communicated in my previous work. From track to track, some are celebrations of breakthroughs, some are grieving who I used to be, and others are terror at the voices which have haunted me for too long. This is the most challenging album I've ever made, and I have held nothing back.
